Kelly Green Candle Color Block. Block weighs approximately 1/2 ounce. Most candle dye blocks will color 10 pounds of wax. Our dyes are super concentrated and normally color 20 pounds of wax. Different colors can be achieved by varying the amount of candle dye. More color produces darker tones. This dye color block is formulated from aniline dyes to give clear, bright tones or shades and is sediment free. It is good idea to melt the wax first and then add the color. If you're using less than 20 pounds of wax, add shavings from the dye block until desired color is obtained. For light colors you will need very little dye. In order to judge the color in your melting container, you can pour small amounts into a dish or small glass to cool. Remember the finished candle will be darker than the sample. The color dye block looks NOTHING like the color that will be realized in your finished candle. When in doubt, start with very little color and add more to achieve the desired tone.
