Today we carry 37 mica powders as well as 4 ultramarines, 9 oxides, and 17 glitter powders. By the time this web page needs to be updated we’ll probably have added another 10 mica powders to our growing selection. Mica powders are made from mica, which is a naturally-occurring mineral. Mica powders can be opalescent (see-through), sparkling (glitter) or completely matte (dull appearance). Mica powders are mica minerals that have been purified and crushed. They are available in a variety of different colors from flat black to 24 Karat gold. Mica powders that have a shimmer are called glitter powders. Mica powders can be used for coloring soaps and candles. They are widely used in cosmetics foundations, rouges and blush. If you’re having difficulty incorporating mica powders into your cold process soaps, try dissolving the powder in liquid glycerin.
