Remove Candle Wax Carpet One thing we’ve learned over the years is that not every trick works every time. Rather than attempt to offer one single suggestion on Remove Candle Wax Carpet, we’ve listed several possible solutions. We do not guarantee that any of these tips will work, but the sources we researched claim they will.
Remove Candle Wax Carpet – Tip #1 - First, use a blunt object such as a butter knife to scrape off as much of the wax as possible. Next, lay several layers of paper towel over the wax. Apply heat to the paper towel with a HOT clothes iron for 5 seconds. Keep shifting the paper towel around and iron the wax into the paper towel. Continue until no more wax is being lifted from the carpet, Finally, clean the spot with a degreasing carpet cleaner.
NOTE: some oil-based waxes may leave an oily stain even after the wax has been removed.
Remove Candle Wax Carpet – Tip #2 – Use Ronsonol lighter fluid. The fluid may discolor certain carpets.
Remove Candle Wax Carpet – Tip #3 – Put ice on the wax so it will freeze, then peel it off.
Remove Candle Wax Carpet – Tip #4 – Scrape off as much wax as possible then use a commercial degreaser such as Penzoil. If the wax is oil-based, cleaning with a degreaser is a MUST. If the stain is washed before the oil is removed, the stain will set and it won’t EVER come out. Don’t wash until all of the oil is gone.
Remove Candle Wax Carpet – Tip #5 – Try using a brown paper bag instead of the paper towels mentioned in Tip #1. Blot the wax with paper towel to remove as much as possible. If necessary, repeat the procedure. If the wax dye left a stain, try commercial degreaser. Any degreasing dishwashing liquid should work fine.
Remove Candle Wax Carpet – Tip #6 – Try using newspaper instead of the paper towels mentioned in Tip #1. The newspaper should draw the wax out of the carpet.
Remove Candle Wax Carpet – Tip #7 – Try the products called Oops or Goof Off. They work on wax crayons and usually work on candle wax.
